do you need to use a packet data connection to recieve email for the nokia n85 or can you use wifi?

everytime i try to recieve email when im sitting right next to my wireless router connected to it it says packet data connection error, shouldnt i be able to use the wifi

I have nokia E75 with Garmin Gps application installed.I recieve sms up to 10 minutes late .any help?

please if anybody can help me i have new nokia E75 i installed Garmin GPS system on it..but iam facing a problem in recieving sms sent to me it takes about 10 minutes and sometimes hour to arrive ..please help me
