yes u can but need to do this work at ur own risk
just delete the china phone firm ware and download nokia n97 firmware from any site which u can get
and convert into china firmware
ex exe to bat converter
or
best way is through ur china phone and buy a 2nd hand n97 from any chor bajar or from any gray market
